Posted by Gregg at 08:14 PM in NY Tech A VC: Alley Wag Fred Wilson and several others voice their disapproval of the NY Times story about the rebirth of Silicon. Maybe the story was in the style section because the companies cited were a lot like the 99' vintage alley companies - mostly style, little substance. Had the business writers done the piece we hopefully they would have written about companies with real business models ... Right Media, 360i, Reprise, Datran, Massive. Even Eyeblaster, Tacoda and Poindexter are better representaives of the tech sector in NY than Meetup and Gawker.
