Getting going
Posted by Gregg at 03:12 PM in Thoughts
In 95 I got a dial up account from pipeline. Armed with my 14.4 modem and long RS 232 cord I ventured into cyberspace. Remember when that term was used seriously? I connected to IRC and watched unintelligible text scroll down the screen - after an hour I gave up trying to join a chat. Eight years later it's not a very different experience trying to get my newsreader to interface with movable type. The difference being that I was able to find someone through Craigslist to install MT on my server in less that an hour. It's actually exciting to experience the combination of mystery and possibility once again.
